..:|:Tanya Morgan:|:..
Although the name evokes something of a neo-soul songstress, the music is overtly hip hop. Making matters even more complicated, this womans name is actually the pseudonym for a group of three male MCs. Not confused yet? Well try this on for size: Tanya Morgan is a group comprised of Von Pea and Ilwil (Ilyas and Donwill) - two totally separate acts. Within the span of a year, the collective of four recorded all the material that would become their debut, Moonlighting. The tightly knit 13-song set is bound together by the story of a misled record shopper and his unwanted purchase. The albums title is a nod to the fact that Tanya Morgan is really two acts in a group together who are, in a sense, moonlighting on their respective jobs by working with each other. And what sound should one expect from three men who named their group after a fictitious woman? Expect the unexpected. There are no neo-soul, rap/r&b hybrid songs on the album. Lyrically the three saturate their clever content with enough personality to push the listener through songs at rewind button-breaking speeds. Tanya Morgan has, in effect, dubbed their sound Running Man Music, and that descriptor is two fold. When the BPMs arent cranked up to a pitch frenetic enough to induce the dance itself, the emotion evoked by the music is enough to remind the listener of a time when Hip Hop was urgent. The album is a clever tongue-in-cheek look at what it means to be a consumer in todays single-driven market where the album format is slowly dissolving altogether. Collectively and individually,

..:|:The Dead Weather:|:..
The Dead Weather is fronted by Alison Mosshart (known to music fans as one half of London-based rock outfit The Kills) and includes The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence on bass, Queens Of The Stone Age member Dean Fertita on guitar and Jack White on drums and vocals. White produced Horehound, which was recorded in just three weeks at the newly constructed Third Man Studio, also designed from the ground up by Jack White.
This is one of those collaborative albums where each contributor brings their own distinctive sound, that when combined with the others produces a truly unique sound, that stands on it's own. This is rock just the way I like it... dark, grungy, and... funky, with just the right amount of blues!

..:|:COMA-CHI:|:..
COMA-CHI began activity in the music scene in March 2003, building her reputation through performances in Tokyo and participation in MC Battles. Her popularity also flourished with her activity in street cyphers, which is freestyle rapping performed on the street. COMA-CHI's skill has been demonstrated through co-performances with many artists including RIP SLYME and Miliyah Kato, and in 2005 she was the first woman to become the runner-up in the B-BOY PARK MC Battle. Described as "Tokyo's Number 1 Female Rapper", it is easy to understand why COMA-CHI's fans are passionate about the young artist. Today, COMA-CHI is continuing to break new ground in the Japanese urban scene, without losing touch with herself and her roots.

..:|:Jean Grae - Discography:|:..
Jean Grae [real name Tsidi Ibrahim] was born in Cape Town, South Africa on November 26, 1976, the daughter of South African jazz musicians (her father and mother are the celebrated musicians Sathima Bea Benjamin and Abdullah "Dollar Bill" Ibrahim), she studied Vocal Performance at the LaGuardia School of Music & Art before majoring in Music Business at New York University.
Ibrahim initially worked under the name Major Woody and after working with groups including Ground Zero, she joined a hip hop music group called Natural Resource in the mid-1990s. Natural Resource dissolved in 1998, after which Ibrahim changed her stage name from What? What? to Jean Grae, a reference to the X-Men character Jean Grey. Under her new name, she released her first LP "Attack of the Attacking Things" in 2002, and followed it in 2004 with "This Week". Throughout her career she has also recorded tracks with numerous major hip hop artists, Atmosphere, The Roots, Talib Kweli, The Herbaliser, Da Beatminerz, Phonte, Mr. Len, Masta Ace, Vordul Mega, C-Rayz Walz,Mos Def, and Immortal Technique among them.
Jean Grae may be the most talented female rapper at large. Her penchant for merciless, R-rated flow both explains her inability to paddle into the mainstream and seems to fuel much of the anger girding her style. Nevertheless, she shovels volumes of fun for those with an appreciation for pure skills and/or the stomach for lines like "I’ll stab you in the aortic valve with a 12-inch blade and f***in’ rub salve in it."

The Independent music world's finest burgeoning producer duo, Blue Sky Black Death, have collaborated with and/or produced for a who's who of such underground acts as Guru (of Gang Starr), Mikah 9 (formerly of Freestyle Fellowship), Wu-Tang affiliates Hell Razah & Holocaust, Jus Allah (Jedi Mind Tricks) & many more Brooding production meets Brooklyn-based bravado in this one of a kind creative pairing.

Jean Grae - This Week [2004]
Jean Grae carries the burden of being way too clever a "femcee" for the music business to behold. (For dumbed-down rhymes, go to Gangsta Boo.) When Grae's in battle-rap mode, her vocal clarity and lyrical dexterity remind one of Jay-Z. However, the relationship-focused confessionals elicit an even greater response because they're so darn honest. "Give It Up" or "P.S." sound like profound Emily Dickinson love poems read with a contemporary New York 'hood twist. Grae has always needed to find equally ambitious beats to match her fiery flows, and this time around she's inched a bit closer to that ideal.
Jean Grae - The Bootleg Of The Bootleg [2003 EP]
Whether the new material on Bootleg has cemented Grae’s position as the next best femcee only a full-length release and time will tell. Until then, you can enjoy the inclusion of some of her back catalog singles with Natural Resource ("Negro League Baseball") on here.
Jean Grae - Attack Of The Attacking Things [2002]
"Attack of the Attacking Things is Jean Grae (formerly known as What? What?), after dozens of similar cameos over several years of underground records, finally battling demons on her own turf, trading on both her unaltered gift for lyrical delicacy, and her distinctive, deliberately understated vocal style."
