..:|:Ego-Wrappin':|:..

EGO-WRAPPIN’ is a unit formed in 1996 in Osaka. Members include Yoshie Nakano (vocals, writes lyrics and music) and Masaki Mori (guitar, writes music). They established the project in their hometown of Osaka and later relocated to Tokyo. The EGO-sound reflects free atmosphere and hot emotion, which Jazz and Rock music had prior to becoming just titles of genres, and draws from the spirit of our living world. Facing music sincerely, jumping the walls of genres easily, they will tell you how to enjoy music with their pop sense. You feel their song vibrations directly.

..:|:Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears:|:..

Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears is an eight-piece, garage-soul ensemble featuring groove-laden guitars, penetrating brass and a fiery frontman who exudes power and attitude. Experiencing the raw energy of Black Joe's performances, accompanied by The Honeybears' masterful backing is the equivalent of a kick to the stomach. Their gut-shot style, felt in such songs as "Gunpowder", "Master Sold My Baby" and "I'm Broke", draws directly from their classic soul, R&B and blues influences. Inspiration from artists such as Otis Redding and The Bar-Kays, James Brown and Lightning Hopkins are clearly present in their songs and live shows, but Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears inject a full-tilt, unabashedly brash element to this old-school style. Tell `Em What Your Name Is! was produced by Jim Eno of Spoon, and recorded, mostly live in the studio, in Austin, TX.

..:|:Q-Tip:|:..

2009 release from the acclaimed rapper and former member of A Tribe Called Quest. This long-delayed album, slated originally for release in 2001, is finally dropping! A musical hybrid, Kamaal was commendably avant-garde at the time of its creation. Amazingly, it's even more appropriate in 2009; given the lack of musical merit and skilled MCs in today's Hip Hop, the time is... NOW for Tip. Kamaal the Abstract is an intensely eclectic and revealing record. Q-Tip produced the entire album himself, even playing several instruments. What comes from Kamaal is a daring masala of Soul, Nu-Jazz, head-nodding Hip Hop, and organic Pop magic in the vein of Stevie Wonder or Prince.

..:|:Imani Coppola:|:..

"While just a sophomore at the State University of New York (studying orchestra and later studio composition), Imani Coppola gained a record contract for her surrealistic, sample-laden pop vision of hip-hop, linked to Digable Planets as well as Neneh Cherry. While growing up, her entire family was musical, and Coppola began playing violin at the age of six. She began writing songs and practiced her vocals (although her recording career has featured her rapping more than singing). Her debut album, Chupacabra, featured the MTV hit "Legend of a Cowgirl." Coppola spent the next decade out of the limelight -- her label dropped her before she could release her follow-up, so she set about making music in relative obscurity in New York, starting her own label so as to release her own material, including 2004's Afrodite. In 2007, however, she was picked up by Ipecac Records, who issued The Black & White Album late that year.

A hip-hop icon, member of the Wu Tang Clan for more than 15 years, Ghostface Killah's multitude of fans have been tuning in to 'The World According to Pretty Toney' long enough to know that "he doesn't so much deliver rhymes as narrate graphically detailed scenes, rife with violence, passion and a little humor," as stated in USA Today.
